La sua ultima apparizione sul nostro schermo televisivo di Italia's Got Talent ci ha riproposto la vera grande rivelazione musicale di questi ultimi due anni.

La sua voce scura è stata già accostata a grandi, grandissimi
nomi, ma non servono i paragoni, la voce
di Benjamin Clementine è tutta sua,
quella di un cantante poeta che affida la sua solitudine esistenziale
accompagnandosi a uno degli strumenti
della musica più “solitari”, il
pianoforte.
L’esordio con “Condolence” con un video in un bianco e nero netto, tagliente come le grosse pietre
aguzze che fanno da muro dal deserto da dove bisogna uscire per ritrovarsi in un deserto metropolitano più deserto di
prima,
Una voce che quando canta dal vivo è capace di rendere le
sue canzoni sempre nuove, sempre altre, perché speso le parole non sono lettere
ma impasti sonori, suoni cifrati, sillabe ferite o sognanti.
La voce di un riscatto, di uno scarto forse finalmente
superato perché ora che è diventato “qualcuno”
non dimentica di essere venuta dal nulla e dall’ingiuria . Per questo il suo
primo singolo, già uscito l’estate scorsa , è un messaggio di avvertimento:
